Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, and review test results. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance to support regulatory compliance and environmental, health, and safety programs at the Waterloo, Iowa center.

Qualifications include state EMT licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P) or RN/LPN, CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• State license/certification as EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
• FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, history interview, and physical exam
• Evaluate donor reactions and medical emergencies per SOPs
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or medical guidance
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and escalate when needed
