The Paramedic in the Emergency Department (ED) functions as a member of the ED team, responsible for providing quality patient care in collaboration with Registered Nurses, ED Providers, and ED Nurse Techs. The role involves performing procedures and tasks approved for paramedics by the North Carolina Office of EMS and the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The ED Paramedic must demonstrate the ability to understand, communicate, and respond effectively to the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications are required.

Graduate Paramedic required. An Associate's Degree in Emergency Medical Science is preferred.
Two years of clinical experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic is preferred.
