The Paramedic in the Emergency Department (ED) functions as a member of the ED team and is responsible for providing quality patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, ED Providers, and ED Nurse Techs. Performs all selected procedures and tasks outlined and approved for paramedics by the North Carolina Office of EMS and the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The ED Paramedic must demonstrate the ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively and appropriately to the unique needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support are required.
