Job summary

Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes seeks skilled EMS professionals to respond to emergent and non-emergent calls, provide advanced prehospital medical care, and coordinate interfacility transfers. You will assess patients, administer treatments, monitor during transport, and document care accurately according to protocols.

The role requires paramedic or RN licensure, BCLS/ACLS/PALS, NIMS training, and a valid driver’s license, with a permanent night rotation 1800–0600 and a 4-on/4-off schedule.

Qualifications

• State licensure/certification as a Paramedic or RN authorized to operate as a Paramedic.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700; medical permission if over 75.
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required at time of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Must meet state background check for vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls in prehospital setting.
• Provides medical support and care at scene, during transport, and interfacility transfers.
• Assesses patients and determines appropriate treatment within scope of practice.
• Performs advanced medical care and BLS using appropriate equipment and medications.
• Monitors patient condition during transport and communicates with facilities.
• Completes accurate patient care documentation per protocols and regulatory requirements.
