Job summary

CGS Federal in Boston, MA is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join a fast-paced legal team as a Full-Time, mid-level professional. The Paralegal will support various aspects of the company’s legal accounts and report to the Office of the General Counsel (OGC).

The role emphasizes document review, discovery, legal research, drafting, and collaboration with attorneys to ensure timely and accurate submissions, under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school.
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful.
• At least one year of experience in automated litigation support; knowledge of federal and state court systems, and legal research resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; thorough knowledge of Lexis and Westlaw.
• Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures and resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide paralegal support reporting to the OGC and assist LITB/IALB; work with minimal supervision.
• Receive, prioritize, and process document requests and requests for legal assistance.
• Research and locate responsive information documents and identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles.
• Perform moderately complex legal research; summarize transcripts; review case materials; identify conflicts or areas needing investigation.
• Draft preliminary memoranda and correspondence.
• Assist in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, and exhibits; conduct legal analysis and review for relevance and privilege.
• Review materials in discovery for relevancy and privilege; prepare privilege logs.
• Maintain documentation of records produced in discovery; manage case notes and metrics.
• Assist in drafting preservation notices and litigation holds; generate case reports.
• Coordinate collaboration with discovery team members and consult on privilege applications.
