Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a dedicated Paralegal to join a fast-paced legal team supporting the company’s portfolio. The position reports to the Office of General Counsel and involves high-quality document review, research, and preparation of legal materials.

The ideal candidate has a paralegal certificate or JD (or is pursuing), with 2+ years of litigation support experience, strong skills in LEXIS/Westlaw, and proficiency in standard software.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful
• At least one year of experience in automated litigation support; knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
• Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems
• Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures/resources
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize, and process requests such as document review or requests for advice or legal technical assistance
• Research and locate responsive information and identify relevant laws, decisions, and articles
• Perform moderately complex legal research and summarize transcripts for attorneys
• Draft preliminary legal memoranda and correspondence
• Assist in preparing draft legal documents and conduct legal analysis
• Review discovery materials for relevancy and privilege
• Prepare privilege logs and maintain case documentation
• Assist in issuing preservation notices and litigation holds
• Generate reports on case assignments and productivity
• Coordinate with discovery team and support FBI litigation efforts
