Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a Senior Litigation Paralegal to join an active in-house government legal team. You will support eDiscovery workflows, manage case materials, prepare complex legal documents, and assist attorneys through trial preparation.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of litigation paralegal experience, familiarity with Westlaw/LExisNexis, and strong organizational skills for high-pressure environments.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful
• At least one year of experience in automated litigation support. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
• Must have hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems
• Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of technical legal documents and ensure formatting conforms to local court rules
• Review incoming documents and case materials and assess status of cases
• Draft indictments, warrants, subpoenas, motions, orders, and legal memoranda
• Gather information from case files and law enforcement for inclusion in documents
• Edit, proofread, and revise briefs and other filings
• Electronically file documents with the U.S. District Court using CM/ECF
• Organize tables of contents and indices for briefs
• List cited cases and references in briefs
• Draft correspondence and transmit proposed orders to court
• Manage discovery databases and perform discovery processing and production
• Bates-stamp and redact discovery materials with Adobe Acrobat
• Notify attorneys about case developments and coordinate with victim/witness staff
• Maintain electronic case files and calendar deadlines in Outlook
