Leidos is seeking paralegals located in Washington, DC, to assist the program and management team with workflows for electronic case filings (ECF) in a fast‑paced and diverse environment.
Responsibilities
- Download electronic case filings (ECFs) from PACER.
- Upload the electronic case filings to the automated matters systems.
- Enter filing information into a case tracking system.
- Create and provide links to the electronic case filings for DOJ attorneys.
- Respond to DOJ attorney requests for filing information and retrieval.
- Compile, prepare, and summarize relevant materials for attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Conduct simple to moderately complex database searches.
- Perform simple legal research.
- Index, track, and control document discovery, depositions, and trial.
- Prepare exhibit cross‑references.
- Assist attorneys in courtroom.
Basic Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study; or at least two years of college education may substitute for the certificate.
- At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience related to electronic case filing workflows.
- Basic legal knowledge, including standard legal citation appropriate for reviewing legal motions and memoranda.
- Experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trial experience.
- Automated litigation support experience.
- Prior experience working in a Federal Government environment.
Pay and Benefits
- Pay for this position will be $25.58/hr.
- This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements.
