Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records is a must.

Additional requirements include but are not limited to: excellent verbal and written communication skills; understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes; excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to function well in a high-paced environment; and a self‑starter starter who takes initiative to complete daily tasks.

Specific responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Assist attorney(s) in complex state and federal cases from initial pleadings through trial;
  • Perform initial case assessments to determine further document discovery to facilitate initial investigation of claim;
  • Draft pleadings, scheduling orders, and motions for state and federal court;
  • Draft discovery requests and responses to include the preparation of voluminous records for production and drafting of privilege logs;
  • Interpret and summarize medical records and bills;
  • Prepare subpoenas for records;
  • Effectively communicate with experts, insurance adjusters, witnesses, clients, and opposing counsel;
  • Schedule meetings, depositions, and mediations;
  • Assist with jury selection and witness preparation for trial;
  • Meet a billing requirement of 140 hours per month: and
  • Assist with preparation of trial notebooks and exhibits.
