The Philadelphia office of Hall Booth Smith, PC is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of complex insurance defense litigation experience and knowledge of Federal and State Rules in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records is required. Additional qualifications include excellent verbal and written communication skills; deep understanding of legal language and principles; adept research methods; proficiency in court pleadings and processes; strong organizational and time‑management skills; analytical and problem‑solving ability; ability to thrive in a high‑paced environment; and a self‑starter who takes initiative to complete daily tasks.
As a litigation paralegal, you will support attorneys in complex state and federal cases from initial pleadings through trial, performing case assessments, drafting pleadings, discovery requests, and summarizing medical records and bills. You will also prepare subpoenas, manage expert and witness communications, schedule meetings, depositions, and mediations, assist with jury selection and witness preparation, maintain a billing requirement of 140 hours per month, and help prepare trial notebooks and exhibits.
