Lawson Huck Gonzalez, PLLC is seeking an experienced, highly dependable Paralegal to join our Coral Gables office. This position will support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced, multi-office law firm and is best suited for someone who is organized, responsive, proactive, and committed to taking full ownership of their work.
The ideal candidate can independently manage competing priorities, anticipate attorney needs, and ensure that deadlines, filings, and follow-up items are handled accurately and on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage attorney calendars, litigation deadlines, hearings, depositions, meetings, and other case-related commitments.
- Calculate, calendar, and monitor deadlines in state and federal matters.
- Draft, revise, proofread, and format correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Prepare and coordinate electronic filings in Florida state and federal courts.
- Organize and maintain electronic case files, pleadings, correspondence, discovery materials, and other matter-related documents.
- Assist with discovery, document production, deposition preparation, hearing preparation, and trial preparation.
- Monitor incoming court notices, correspondence, and other communications and ensure they are promptly routed and addressed.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, vendors, and other parties.
- Coordinate service of process, court reporters, hearing materials, and other litigation-related logistics.
- Track assignments and follow up with attorneys and other team members to ensure matters continue moving forward.
- Provide additional case and administrative support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of experience working as a paralegal, preferably in a litigation practice.
- Experience filing documents in Florida state and federal courts.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court deadlines, and legal-document formatting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a consistent ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple attorneys, matters, and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and a strong sense of accountability.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff across multiple offices.
