Excellence Community Schools (ECS) seeks a Paraprofessional to support classroom instruction and student learning, focusing on students needing additional academic, behavioral, or social-emotional support. This role maintains high expectations and a positive school culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NYS Teaching Assistant certificate required or must pass NYS assessment.
• Experience in educational or youth development setting preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction aligned to school expectations.
• Provide small-group or one-on-one academic support to students as directed.
• Reinforce lesson objectives, routines, and instructional strategies.
• Support students with special needs, English language learners, or students needing additional interventions.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, structured classroom environment.
• Supervise students during transitions and non-instructional times.
• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to support student success.
