Job summary

Leona Group Schools seeks an ESS Paraprofessional to assist Exceptional Student Services classroom teachers in delivering instruction and supporting students. Responsibilities include tutoring, translation (where applicable), and following teacher lesson plans to ensure quality teaching and learning.

The role involves maintaining a safe classroom, communicating with parents when needed, and contributing to school-wide initiatives while upholding confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Evidence of successful experience in student relations.
• No Child Left Behind compliance: associate degree, 60 college credits, or passing state assessment.
• Proven instructional support experience through tutoring or teaching roles.
• IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in achieving the teacher’s daily educational objectives.
• Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment and support behavior management.
• Attend parent/teacher conferences as needed to discuss student performance.
• Provide non-teaching support such as preparing materials or supervising routines.
• In the absence of the teacher, deliver instruction per lesson plans.
• Maintain records and confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in school teams and extracurricular activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
