Job summary

Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking a Middle School Paraeducator to support students in both general and special education settings at McCarthy Middle School. The role focuses on academic, social, emotional, and physical support to help students achieve their daily learning goals.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s degree or equivalent, knowledge of disabilities and IEP processes, and the ability to implement accommodations and modifications.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, two years of college or passing the para test.
• Knowledge of various disabilities.
• Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
• Knowledge of special education procedures and IEPs.
• Provide support (accommodations & modifications) to students with academic tasks.
• Support students with social, communication and/or ADL skills including assisting with toileting as needed.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the Middle School level.
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.

Position: Middle School Paraeducator

Location: McCarthy Middle School

Description: Work with Middle School children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classrooms to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically.
