Job summary

Albert Lea Area Schools seeks a paraeducator at Albert Lea High School for a long-term replacement. This 0.9 FTE position supports classroom teachers and students in a high-school setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 60 college credits or passing a proficiency exam, and a preference for experience with diverse needs. CPR/First Aid certification is also favored. Salary is $16.83 per hour, with earned sick leave provisions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass local Academic Proficiency Exam or have taken at least 60 hours semester credits at post-secondary level.
• Preferred experience working with children of differing abilities.
• Preferred experience working with individuals with emotional, behavioral learning challenges, learning differences, and functional skills needs.
• Must possess good organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team approach.
• CPR and First Aid training / certification preferred.
• Educational qualifications: Equivalent of 2 years of college (AA degree) or passing score on Para Pro (460)
