Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs under the direction of a principal. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, behavior management, and clerical tasks across classrooms, possibly off-site, with flexible scheduling.

Ideal candidates hold an associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and have experience with instructional strategies, child development, and English language proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of child development and instructional goals for students with IEPs.
  • Experience applying instructional strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
  • English reading/writing/speaking proficiency required.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies or web-based instructional tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with classroom instruction and activities under teacher supervision.
  • Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
  • Help implement IEP goals and manage classroom behavior.
