Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs and promote learning and well-being. Under the principal’s guidance, you will assist with instructional activities, manage behaviors, and help students access the curriculum in general education and specialized settings.

You may work with students off-site when required and must be flexible, participate in trainings, and perform clerical tasks to support teachers and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development, instructional goals, and policies.
• Ability to assist with implementation of instructional programs.
• Ability to monitor and support student behavior.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read/write/speak English.

Responsibilities

• Support students with IEPs in general education and specialized settings.
• Assist with instructional activities and behavior management.
• Perform clerical tasks to support teachers and staff.
• May participate in activities off school grounds as needed.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical needs.
