Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs, assisting with instructional activities and behavioral management in various learning environments.

Role involves working with students to achieve grade-level goals and possibly participating in activities off campus. Requires an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred) and relevant experience, with flexibility for scheduling and location changes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum nine credit-hours related to education such as behavior management or instructional strategies.
• One year of experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• If no related coursework, two to four years of experience with children/adolescents in structured settings may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in mastering grade-level curricula or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and physical needs.
• Participate in instructional activities and classroom management; perform clerical tasks.
• Assist with supervision in and outside the classroom as needed.
