Job summary

The Olympia School District is seeking a Paraeducator to support students with IEPs/504s in academic classrooms such as Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies. Under direct supervision, you will assist teachers with lesson implementation and provide accommodations as outlined in IEPs/504s.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, valid Paraeducator credential or credits, and prior experience with children.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; one of the listed assessments or college credits or an associate degree (official transcript required).
• Experience: Prior job-related experience with school age children.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
• Participation in health-related trainings (First Aid/CPR may be required).
• Willingness to train to gain necessary skills (e.g., Type II License, Food Handlers Permit).
• Right Response Certification or willingness to obtain.

• Assists teachers to implement lesson plans.
• Maintains classroom equipment and student files for accessibility.
• Monitors students to ensure a safe, positive learning environment.
• Performs basic clerical tasks to support teachers.
