Job summary

Olympia School District seeks a paraeducator to assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, maintain student files, and monitor classroom activities to foster a safe learning environment. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved Parapro/college credit pathway.

Health trainings and background clearance are required. The position runs September 9 – November 10, 2026, Monday–Friday, 8:45 am – 4:05 pm, with benefits per the CBA and SEBB.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the accepted assessments or college credits.
• Experience: Prior work with school age children, paid or volunteer.
• Criminal background clearance and health-related trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers to implement lesson plans.
• Maintains classroom equipment and student records as needed.
• Monitors students to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Performs basic clerical tasks and scheduling to support teachers.
• Administers tests to assist evaluating student progress.
• Confers with teachers/parents to evaluate progress and objectives.
• Participates in meetings to improve skills and knowledge.
