Job summary

The Snohomish School District is seeking a paraeducator A to support the elementary educational process under the direction of the Building Administrator. This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Shift is Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., with 1 paid hour per day and a 9-month calendar with holiday breaks. Eligible candidates must be 18+, hold a HS diploma or higher, with multiple acceptable education or testing paths offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a HS diploma or equivalent.
• Options include an associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits/48 semester credits at 100 level+.
• May satisfy through approved assessments such as ParaPro, Para Pathways, Pearson or Master Teacher programs.
• Upon hire, complete the FCS-Paraeducator Certificate.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Building Administrator is responsible for supporting the elementary educational process. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description. This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Salary Range:

$27.38 – $31.13 Paraeducator A per 2026-27 Public School Employees Salary Schedule.
Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation

Work Schedule:

• Shift: Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• Paid Hours: 1 hour per day
• Calendar: 9 months/year; enjoy time off during spring break, winter break and summer, plus 10 paid holidays.

Qualifications:

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, ++and++ meet one (1) of the following:

• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or

• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or

• Passed one of the following Professional Educator Standards Board approved assessments:

• ETS ParaPro Assessment Score of 455 or higher (https://www.ets.org/parapro)

• Para Pathways Score of 324 in Reading and Writing and a Score of 325 in Mathematics

• Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment Score of 220 or higher

• Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program Score of 65% or higher

• Upon hire, must complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.

• Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
