The Achieve program serves students with health or behavioral needs and provides structured supports. Training and collaborative planning with teachers are essential to ensure safe, inclusive instruction

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of Individualized Education Plan
  • Assist with academic, behavior/social, and/or adaptive needs
  • Assist implementation of Behavior Intervention plan
  • Assist in the health plan, toileting plan, and/or medical delegations depending on students' individualized plan
  • May require Right Response training; depending on program and student needs
  • May require riding the bus with a student

Paraeducator responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting the implementation of Individualized Educational Plan

Achieve Program:

The Achieve program supports students with either a health impairment or social/emotional behavior disability that adversely affects the student's educational performance. These classrooms are designed for students who need support in learning behavioral controls so that they can access learning opportunities. Each student has a Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan. Classes are structured so that teachers can work individually with each child's particular needs in this area.
