Job summary

Everett Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator to support students with 1:1 behavior and life skills needs in the Special Education program for the 2026-27 school year. The role includes implementing IEPs, assisting with behavioral and adaptive supports, and helping with health and safety plans under supervision.

The position may involve busing responsibilities and close collaboration with teachers and related service staff to ensure student success and safety in all daily activities.

Qualifications

• Supports implementation of Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
• Assists with behavior/social and adaptive needs of students.
• Supports health plans, toileting plans, and medical delegations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with IEP implementation and data collection.
• Support behavioral and social skill development.
• Assist in health-related planning and student safety procedures.
• May provide bus assistance as required by route and student needs.

Paraeducator responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the implementation of Individualized Educational Plan
• Academic, behavior/social, and/or adaptive needs
• Assisting implementation of Behavior Intervention plan
• Assisting in the health plan, toileting plan, and/or medical delegations depending on students' individualized plan
• May require Right Response training; depending on program and student needs
• May require riding the bus with a student

Life Skills Program: The Life Skills program is a service for students with significant cognitive and academic delays, existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior. These programs are for students who will likely need a life-skills or functional approach to academic instruction.
