Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Construction Sewing Specialist in Florida to manufacture costumes for parades, meet-and-greets, and shows. You will operate high-powered sewing machines, press equipment, glues, and tools to meet efficiency and quality standards.

Responsibilities include constructing garments from start to finish, altering to size charts, and collaborating with the Patternmaker. The role includes extensive physical activity and an 8-hour in-person assessment during the hiring

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in garment construction or repair.
• Experience using industrial sewing machines in a professional setting.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must successfully pass a Sewing Assessment.
• Willing to work with costumes and fabrics made of synthetic and natural fibers.

Responsibilities

• Construct detailed garments from start to finish.
• Sew on a variety of fabrics with precision.
• Apply size charts to alter garments.
• Collaborate with Patternmaker on replenishment orders.
• Repair/alter garments as needed.
• Read and interpret patterns and specifications sheets.
