Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Custom Sewing Operator in Anaheim, CA. This full-time role involves sewing upholstery, draperies, awnings, and related fabrics for Disney shows and displays behind the scenes, using industrial sewing equipment. Strong pattern reading and precision are essential.

You must be able to work all shifts, including holidays, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery. Prior trade training and 5+ years in the trade are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial sewing equipment (e.g. single and double needle, serger, binding, and tackers).
• Sew various fabrics from the lightest sheers to the heaviest vinyls including by hand when required.
• Cut and mark patterns when required.
• Follow instructions from a cutter on how to assemble products.
• Set grommets and button snaps.
• Strong written and verbal communication to positively engage vendors, cast members, and management from Disney and divisions outside of the resort.
• Full availability Sunday through Saturday for all shifts (i.e., 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) as deemed a requirement by management and available to work all holidays.
• Completed a trade school, art school, or formal training
• 5+ years professional experience in this trade

Responsibilities

• Sew upholstery, draperies, awnings, umbrellas, weather covers, flags, pennants, banners, and any other product that may be required
• Set correct tension and choose the proper thread for the product being sewn
• Complete and prepare products for installation including proper tagging and storage of product for pickup
