Job summary

Ahlstrom's Mosinee, Wisconsin plant is seeking a Paper Mill Intern for Summer 2027 to assist the Production Team in safety, quality, and process improvements on a paper machine line.

The role offers a $27.00 per hour pay rate and requires candidates to be pursuing an Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Paper Science, or Chemical Engineering, with full-time availability June through August 2027. Relocation to Mosinee is expected for the duration of the internship.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Mechanical, Electrical, Paper Science or Chemical Engineering degree.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Willing to relocate to Mosinee, Wisconsin for Summer 2027.
• Able to work full-time for the duration of the internship.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper
• Assist and/or lead safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, cost control, compliance, and housekeeping projects
• Support machine manager in leading a paper machine process line, including daily and long term activities
• Support operations/maintenance efforts and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Actively pursuing a Mechanical, Electrical, Paper Science or Chemical Engineering degree program
• Living in or willing to relocate to the Mosinee, Wisconsin area from June - August 2027
• Ability to work full-time for the duration of the position
• Strong desire to work within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
• Strong technical aptitude and proven problem-solving abilities
