Met Council’s Brooklyn Hub Food Pantry seeks a Pantry Case Worker to oversee client communications and manage emergency food packages. The role requires strong customer service, effective time management, and teamwork in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

The position emphasizes respectful client interactions, inventory control, and collaboration with pantry staff and volunteers to support daily operations at 1271 60th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11219.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (required)
• 2+ years of relevant experience in food pantry operations, social services, or related field
• Fluent in English (required); understanding of Yiddish or Hebrew (preferred)
• Knowledge of Kashrut laws (required)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a functional emergency food space aligned with program goals.
• Oversee ordering and packing of clients’ emergency food packages.
• Assist clients with order placement and navigate market technical inquiries.
• Manage and maintain inventory control.
• Oversee all pantry volunteers and provide supervision and guidance as needed.
