Job summary

Columbia University in the City of New York is seeking a Pantry Worker to support Dining Services in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting. You will work alongside chefs on cold prep, interact with customers, and prepare customized meals as part of daily operations.

The role reports to the Manager on Duty and involves menu planning for the pantry, basic hot and cold beverage preparation, and assisting cooks with sandwich, salad, and cold plate prep as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Serves the menu of the day in the manner prescribed by Dining Services.
• Orders, receives, and stores necessary food and supplies and maintains related records.
• Complies with the rules of Dining Services in regard to production and serving.
• Uses and maintains tools and equipment in a proper manner, including, but not limited to, steamtables, coffee brewing equipment and food display cases.
• Cleans, prepares, and keeps in order the area and equipment used in the job and other areas as assigned by the Manager.
• Observes and practices safety standards.
• Performs related duties as required or assigned within the job classification.
