Job summary

University Hospital is seeking a Palliative Care Coordinator to provide bereavement services, palliative care, and spiritual support for patients and their families. This role requires strong collaboration with medical and nursing staff to facilitate comprehensive support and education on end-of-life issues.

The ideal candidate must hold a Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Nursing and have at least two years of relevant experience. Certification eligibility in Thanatology or palliative care is required, and Spanish speaking is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Nursing required.
• At least two years of related experience in a hospice program or acute care setting.
• Certification or eligibility for certification in Thanatology, CHP-SW, ACHP-SW, CHPN, or ACHPN.
• Spanish speaking highly desirable.
• Ability to pass medical evaluation and respirator fit test.

Responsibilities

• Provide bereavement services, palliative care, and spiritual support.
• Collaborate with Nursing Staff and Advanced Practice Nurse.
• Gather data for end-of-life decision-making research.
• Facilitate bereavement support groups.
