Job summary

Community Healthcare of Texas is recruiting a Spiritual Care Coordinator to provide spiritual and emotional support for patients, families, and staff within hospice and palliative care services.

The role involves assessing spiritual needs, connecting families with resources, and participating in on-call rotations. A Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies is required; master’s level education is preferred, with hospice experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies required; substitution allowed with a non-religious bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of direct spiritual care experience.
• Master’s degree with Clinical Pastoral Education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient/family with spiritual care needs and participate in the plan of care.
• Provide spiritual and emotional support according to the plan of care.
• Participate in on-call rotation and varied schedules/duties as assigned.
• Document visits/phone calls per policy.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings.
• Provide aftercare and bereavement support with the Bereavement Coordinator.
• Provide spiritual and emotional support for staff.
