A leading venue management company is seeking a Painter for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. The role involves maintaining the facility's paint and ensuring safety standards. Ideal candidates will have experience in painting and drywall repair, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Painter at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. This position is responsible for the day-to-day painting needs of the facility while following safety requirements and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains paint on walls, doors, handrails and trims (interior and exterior) of Convention Center, Arena, Theaters and Meeting Rooms (Including all drywall repairs, patching, sanding, and repainting)
Maintains paint and repairs on exterior fixtures, trellis and concrete
Keeps inventory of paint and supplies
Utilizes paint and materials necessary for the upkeep of the facility in accordance with MSDS
Set up scaffolding and ladders using safe work procedures
Ensures that all job assignments are completed as instructed
Responsible for completion of assigned job unless released by supervisor
Responsible for keeping the paint shop in clean and orderly and paints stored properly; clean tools, brushes, rollers and sprayer
Notifies Supervisor if equipment is in need of repair or supplies are low
Follows facility dress code and grooming standards
Follows established safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment
Attends to and conforms to the policies established by SMG and the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2 or more years of paint experience required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Abilities
Good organization skills
Good oral, written and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and comprehend paint labels
Ability to work with little supervision and maintain professional demeanor at all times
Ability to work irregular hours, shifts that include nights, graveyard shift, weekends and holidays
Knowledge of correct painting techniques with rollers, brushes, and air powered sprayer
Knowledge of correct drywall repair techniques
Knowledge of correct paint types, finishes, and applications
Able to operate power and hand tools
Computer Skills
No computer skills are required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and finger to handle or feel equipment; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. This position may have to work in high locations. This position requires work in both indoor and outdoor settings and may be subjected to adverse conditions.
