Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a hands-on manufacturing professional in Buffalo Grove to lead a team assembling or operating small machines. You will drive safety, quality, and efficiency while maintaining customer-focused output and continuous improvement.

This role emphasizes team leadership and adherence to lean methods in a dynamic production cell. You will mentor team members, manage daily schedules, and ensure proper PPE and training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 2–5 years of experience.
• Requires Forklift License.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe working environment and 5S in the area.
• Conduct stand-up meetings to discuss safety, quality, productivity, TPM, 5S and CIA’s.
• Train employees on PPE and determine assembly requirements to meet BOMs and cost targets.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Maintain Kanban boards and coordinate start, due and ship dates to meet deadlines.
