Paint Line Team Leader
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $33.00 per hour

Education Requirements
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and production documentation.
- Forklift certification/license required.
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of manufacturing, production, assembly, or team leadership experience.
- Experience leading production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Background in scheduling, workflow coordination, continuous improvement, and quality-focused operations.
- Experience using ERP systems, Kanban systems, production schedules, and manufacturing work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Ability to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and solve production challenges.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Oracle, spreadsheets, production tracking systems, and manufacturing documentation.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Frequent reaching, handling materials, speaking, and hearing.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and wear required PPE.
- Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Job Duties
- Lead and support a team responsible for assembly operations and machine operation while meeting production, quality, and customer demand requirements.
- Develop, release, and monitor daily production schedules to ensure on-time completion of customer orders.
- Conduct daily stand-up meetings covering safety, quality, productivity, TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train employees on job procedures, PPE requirements, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices.
- Maintain a safe, organized work environment through strong housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Monitor production performance, manage Kanban systems, and establish priorities based on start dates, due dates, and shipment schedules.
- Recommend and implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Analyze production issues, assist team members in resolving problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, customer service, and leadership teams to achieve production goals, labor targets, and quality standards.
