Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn seeks a seasoned manufacturing leader to oversee automation and maintenance across plants. You will drive continuous improvement, manage indirect materials, and coach skilled trades to optimize equipment performance.

The role requires strong communication, MS Office proficiency, and a track record in supervising teams in an industrial setting. This is a leadership, salary-grade 6 position with Ford.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 2+ years in maintenance and/or engineering requested.
• 5+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of automation equipment and controls.

Responsibilities

• Six Sigma problem solving to support continuous improvement.
• Review, audit and update PM activities for automation equipment.
• Manage costs for indirect materials and robot covers; develop alternatives.
• Ensure quality inspections are performed and address issues quickly.
• Develop and implement prove-out processes for flawless starts.
• Lead teams to resolve bottlenecks using data (FIS/MOS).
• Direct, train and validate repairs of automation equipment.
• Identify safety issues and ensure compliance.
