Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Medical Termin Terminology course with grade C or better or pass terminology exam with 80% or better.
• 1 year current patient registration experience.
• 1 year secretarial experience in a medical environment.
• Keyboarding at 30 wpm.
• Knowledge of third party billing.
• Previous scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procedure rooms booking schedule with Pain Center physicians into an organized, strategically planned schedule.
• Perform secretarial duties to assist administrative and medical staff.
• Verify insurance coverage at time appointment is scheduled and again at check in.
• Obtain, track and enter prior authorizations, referrals and payor requirements.
• Schedule procedures in accordance with payor policies and reschedules when needed.
• Register patients and post Pain Management charges for physician services and center services.
• Schedule treatments including providers, labs, imaging, therapies and referrals.
• Answer phones, screen calls, and process mail.
• Follow hospital policies, safety and infection control; participate in PI projects.
• Enter information into the EMR accurately and timely.
• Accept and process payments from patients and provide receipts.
