Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Pineville, NC, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Pain Management team. This full-time role (40 hours/week) operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with no weekends or on-call requirements, and offers a sign-on bonus eligibility.

The Medical Assistant will assist physicians with patient care, intake, documentation, vaccine and medication administration, and in-clinic testing, scheduling, and record-keeping, performing venipuncture and POCT per

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program Certification / License.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Care for newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as pertinent to the office setting.
Pre-visit planning with provider and care team.
Assist with patient intake/rooming and documentation.
May assist with medication administration, including injections.
Check vital signs, height, and weight.
Review medication history and update medication list.
Assist with health maintenance requirements and patient inquiries.
Perform Point of Care testing per standing orders or provider orders.
Complete venipuncture and in-office lab testing adhering to CLIA standards.
