Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the WFUHS Premier Dr - Pain Medicine: Med Mgmt clinic in North Carolina. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, 40 hours per week.

The role includes patient prep, phlebotomy/lab tasks, and assisting physicians with procedures in a fast-paced clinical setting. Qualified candidates have CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA-type certification, BLS, and a graduation from an accredited MA program.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification from CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA/NRCMA/NRMA required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures (e.g., throat/nose culture, specimen collection).
• Assist physician/APP with procedures such as pelvic exams or testing.
• Administer routine medications under orders or standing protocols.
• Maintain effective clinic flow and communicate with the health care team.
