Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Community Based Specialist to provide direct support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves supervising participants, coaching job skills, and helping them pursue employment across community settings.

The position emphasizes life skills, social skills, and pre-employment coaching with on-the-job support and documentation. Training is provided, with emphasis on safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; HS diploma/GED acceptable.
• Minimum 2 years experience with ASD or adults with disabilities.
• Must be 21+ with valid driver’s license and daily car access.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure safety of adults in various settings.
• Provide job coaching and social/life skills support.
• Assist employment goals and develop employment plans.
• Maintain daily data, progress notes, and documentation.
• Coordinate transportation to employment and activities.
• Collaborate with supervisor and team on life plan development.

Skills

Valid driver’s license

2 years experience with ASD/Disability

Education
