Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking an Employment Specialist/Job Coach to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to find meaningful employment based on their strengths, interests, and goals.

You will build connections with community employers, develop resumes, and support interview preparation while coordinating with families, case managers, and agencies to ensure successful placement and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid, unrestricted North Carolina driver’s license with good driving record.
• Willing to travel within the assigned territory to support community-based program.

Responsibilities

• Create connections with community employers to identify and create jobs opportunities.
• Develop resumes, prepare and accompany individuals to job interviews, and communicate qualifications to employers.
• Communicate with each person assigned to the caseload at least weekly and document communications.
• Conduct the primary job development activities for the program.
• Maintain case records and document in the EMR within 24 hours of service delivery.
• Coordinate communication with parents, case managers, and other agencies.
• Provide job development and intensive training activities with individuals.
• Accompany individuals to community-based employment sites for on-the-job training.
