UNC Health invites rising senior ADN/BSN nursing students to join a 10-week, paid Student Nurse Externship Program at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC. This immersive summer experience pairs students with RN mentors to gain hands-on clinical skills and confidence for transition to professional nursing.

Eligible candidates are enrolled in an accredited nursing program with anticipated graduation within 12 months, and must possess BLS certification and a high school diploma.

Formación

• Fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Basic computer skills.
• Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Ability to push/pull patients and equipment.
• Frequent to continuous standing/walking.

Responsabilidades

• Observes, documents patient information and reports significant changes.
• Assists patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Performs basic patient care tasks per plan of care (vital signs, wound care, ROM, etc.).
• Provides direct personal care for ADLs as outlined in care plan.
• Assists in maintaining unit and supplies; supports learning and orientation of new staff/students.
