UNC Health in Raleigh, NC invites rising senior ADN/BSN nursing students to join a 10-week paid Student Nurse Externship, gaining hands-on clinical experience and exploring hospital-based care.

You will work with an RN partner, perform supervised nursing activities, and have opportunities for certification support, career development, and exposure to a busy surgical/post-operative unit, with mentorship across a fast-paced care team.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English language.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current enrollment in an accredited prelicensure nursing program with anticipated graduation within 12 months.
• Nursing Assistant I certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsabilités

• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report changes to RN.
• Assist with patient admissions, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care/treatments as outlined in the plan of care and perform routine nursing tasks.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living.
• Support area operations: cleaning, restocking, and equipment transport.
• Reinforce patient teaching and document understanding.
• Assist providers with routine exams and procedures.
• Acknowledge and manage safety and behavior issues in psychiatric settings.
