Job summary

Austin Industries is offering a 2027 Summer People/HR Internship for students pursuing a career in human resources. The intern will gain exposure to recruiting, onboarding, compensation and benefits, HR analytics, employee relations, and other HR Generalist duties.

This paid 12-week internship runs May 17–Aug 6, 2027, reporting to the Dallas, TX headquarters. You will work with subject-matter experts across operating companies, participate in social and volunteer events, and complete a

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s in HR or related field.
• Junior or Senior strongly preferred.
• Office experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills; ability to analyze data.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Targeted graduation Aug 2027–Dec 2028.
• 40 hours per week onsite.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Austin Industries cannot sponsor visa.

Responsibilities

• Explore multiple HR disciplines including Recruiting, Engagement, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations and HR Operations.
• Support day-to-day HR activities and analytics.
• Collaborate with employees, managers, and business leaders.
• Assist in a final internship project linking classroom learnings to business needs.
• Complete a meaningful internship project delivering tangible improvements.
