Job summary

Austin Industries invites applications for its 2027 Summer People/HR Internship in Dallas, TX. This paid 12-week program exposes students to HR disciplines including recruiting, onboarding, compensation & benefits, HR analytics, and employee relations.

You will work closely with subject-matter experts across Austin’s operating companies and support real-world HR projects. Open to Bachelor’s or Master’s students in HR or related fields (Junior/Senior preferred).

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Human Resources or a related field. Junior or Senior strongly preferred.
• Some office experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel skills required; ability to analyze data.
• Must be able to commute onsite to Dallas location; willing to work up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Explore multiple HR disciplines, including Recruiting, Employee Engagement, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, and HR Operations.
• Develop analytical and problem-solving skills by reviewing processes, interpreting workforce data, and recommending improvements.
• Gain real-world experience supporting day-to-day HR activities and collaborating with employees, managers, and business leaders.
• Strengthen professional communication, organization, and project management skills through cross-functional initiatives.
• Complete a meaningful internship project applying classroom knowledge to a business challenge and delivering a tangible solution.
