Job summary

IMEG is offering a Civil Engineering Intern position in Rock Island, IL for a 10-12 week summer program. You will support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design, gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced engineers and consultants.

The program provides mentorship, structured learning, and potential full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil design work in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment and resources.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
• Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines and suppliers.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
