Job summary

Arizona Public Service seeks ABET-accredited engineering students for the Palo Verde Summer Internship, a paid 10-week program from May to July. Interns will work on real business and engineering projects, guided by leaders, with housing provided for in-person internships.

APS offers professional development, new-hire orientation, company tours, and mentorship, enabling interns to gain hands-on experience and exposure to senior leadership within a major utility organization.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university undergraduate program in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline.
• Minimum GPA of 3.2
• Knowledge and ability to apply basic discipline engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.
• Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.
• Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.
• Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.

Education

ABET Accredited college/university undergraduate program in engineering

Approved Engineer degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural
