Job summary

Lettuce Entertain You in Chicago offers a Culinary Externship to gain practical kitchen experience. One year of experience or current enrollment in a culinary program is required, and the program runs 10-16 weeks as a paid opportunity. Externs will be placed in an hourly role aligned with their skill level at a restaurant concept.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential functions in hourly roles (host, server, runner, busser, cook, etc.) at the designated restaurant location.
• Safely operate all necessary tools and equipment.
• Work varied shifts including weekends and nights.
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken directions.
• Multitask calmly in a busy, potentially stressful environment.
• Move and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Move through all areas of the restaurant, including stairs and uneven surfaces.
