Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is offering Culinary Externship opportunities in Chicago to gain practical kitchen experience. Externs may work in various concepts at hourly rates, based on their skill level, with a paid, 10–16 week commitment.

Applicants should have one full year of practical experience or be currently enrolled in a culinary program; externs are responsible for their own housing and transportation as part of the program.

Qualifications

• One full year of practical experience OR current enrollment in a culinary program
• Externs are paid; duration 10–16 weeks (extensions at Chef/GM discretion)
• Externs will be placed in a restaurant concept and hourly role that correlates with their skill level

Responsabilités

• Perform essential functions in hourly roles (host, server, runner, busser, cook, etc.) for the assigned location
• Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
• Work a variety of days and shifts including weekends and nights
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken direction
• Multitask calmly in a busy, stressful environment
• Move safely through restaurant spaces; lift up to 50 pounds when needed
• Have one full year of practical experience OR current enrollment in a culinary program
