McLane is offering a fully paid CDL-A school right here in Northfield, MN. This Driver Trainee role kicks off a rewarding career with excellent pay and benefits.

You will learn core driving functions, receive on-site training, and be supported toward earning a Class A CDL in approximately six months. Pay is $23.75/hour during school and training, with average first-year earnings of $80,000–$90,000 and a minimum guarantee of $65,000 per year as a driver.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet eligibility in McLane Transfer and Promotion Policy.
• Complete training to obtain Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability and willingness to load/unload and deliver all products.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions and bills of lading.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely per regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Operate Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) and document receipts and temperatures.
• Train with Driver Trainer to gain knowledge of regulations and driving skills.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations and document deliveries.
