Job summary

Avangrid's Electrical Engineering Internship Program is a 10-week paid summer experience designed to provide meaningful exposure to the energy industry through real-world projects, professional development, and mentorship. Interns contribute to Avangrid's business priorities while building technical and professional skills alongside experienced industry professionals.

Assignments may involve electric transmission and distribution infrastructure, substations, protection and control systems,

Qualifications

Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree, or first-year Master's student with at least one semester remaining before graduation.
Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Demonstrated ability to analyze information, solve problems, and communicate findings effectively.
Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.

Responsibilities

Support initiatives to plan, design, operate, maintain, and modernize Avangrid's electric system.
Assignments may involve electric transmission and distribution infrastructure, substations, protection and control systems, system planning, reliability initiatives, or grid modernization programs.
Present project outcomes, recommendations, and key learnings throughout the internship.
