Job summary

Avangrid offers a 10-week paid summer internship designed to provide meaningful exposure to the energy industry through real-world projects, professional development, and mentorship. Interns work on initiatives across transmission, distribution, protection and control systems, system planning, reliability, or grid modernization programs.

Selected students apply classroom knowledge to hands-on projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and gain exposure to Avangrid's operations.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree, or first-year Master's student with at least one semester remaining before graduation.
• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Apply academic learning to real-world business, technical, and operational challenges.
• Contribute to meaningful project-based assignments aligned with business priorities.
• Collaborate with professionals across teams and develop technical and professional skills through hands-on experience, mentorship and networking.
• Present project outcomes, recommendations, and key learnings throughout the internship.
